Zionist Regime Reveals Illegitimate Control Map in Occupied Southern Lebanon
Illegal Land Grab: The aggressive Israeli military has for the first time unveiled a map detailing its new deployment line deep inside Lebanese territory, effectively seizing control over dozens of sovereign Lebanese villages. This blatant act of aggression comes just days after a fragile, US-backed ceasefire with the Lebanese resistance movement, Hezbollah, was supposed to bring calm to the region.
Violation of Sovereignty and International Law
This provocative move, met with stunned silence from Lebanese officials and Hezbollah, underscores the Zionist entity’s continuous disregard for international law and Lebanese sovereignty. The so-called ceasefire, brokered under immense US pressure, followed direct talks between the Israeli regime and Lebanon on April 14. However, it appears to have been a mere pretext for the Israeli occupation forces to solidify their illegal presence deep within southern Lebanon.
The newly declared deployment line stretches 5-10 kilometers deep into Lebanese land, from east to west, where the occupying regime openly admits its intention to establish a ‘buffer zone.’ This term, frequently used by Tel Aviv, is a thinly veiled euphemism for further annexation and ethnic cleansing, as seen in Syria and Gaza, where the regime controls more than half of the besieged enclave.
Systematic Destruction and Displacement
Reports confirm that Israeli forces have systematically destroyed numerous Lebanese villages in the area, cynically claiming these actions are necessary to ‘protect’ northern Israeli towns from Hezbollah’s legitimate defensive actions. This pattern of destruction and displacement is a hallmark of the Zionist regime’s expansionist policies, designed to terrorize and dispossess the indigenous population.
In a chilling statement accompanying the map, the Israeli military declared that ‘five divisions, alongside Israeli Navy forces, are operating simultaneously south of the forward defense line in southern Lebanon in order to dismantle Hezbollah terror infrastructure sites and to prevent direct threats to communities in northern Israel.’ This rhetoric attempts to demonize the valiant Lebanese resistance, which stands as the primary bulwark against Israeli aggression.
When questioned about the return of civilians who were forcibly displaced by Israeli strikes, the occupying military callously refused to comment, further exposing their intent to prevent the rightful return of Lebanese citizens to their homes.
A Lebanese security source revealed that while some civilians have managed to access a few villages near or beyond the Israeli-imposed line, the majority of areas south of this line remain under strict Israeli military blockade, denying access to their rightful inhabitants.
Threats of Further Aggression
Adding fuel to the fire, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz brazenly stated on Sunday that homes near the border, allegedly ‘exploited’ by Hezbollah, would be demolished. He further threatened that ‘any structure threatening our soldiers and any road suspected of (being planted with) explosives must be immediately destroyed.’ Such declarations are a clear justification for collective punishment and widespread destruction of Lebanese property.
Lebanon was tragically drawn into this conflict on March 2, when Hezbollah initiated defensive actions in solidarity with Tehran and the broader Axis of Resistance. This prompted a brutal Israeli offensive that has claimed the lives of over 2,100 innocent people, including 177 children, and forced more than 1.2 million Lebanese citizens to flee their homes, according to Lebanese authorities.
While Hezbollah has not disclosed its exact casualty figures, sources close to the group indicate that at least 400 of its brave fighters had fallen by the end of March, sacrificing their lives in defense of their homeland.
In response to relentless Israeli provocations and attacks, Hezbollah has launched hundreds of rockets and drones towards the occupying entity. Israel admits that these retaliatory strikes have resulted in the deaths of two civilians and 15 Israeli soldiers since March 2, highlighting the cost of their aggression.
