U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Iran has “agreed to everything,” stating that the current U.S. blockade against Iranian traffic in the Strait of Hormuz will remain in effect until a deal is finalized. On Friday, Trump informed CBS that Iran has consented to halt financial support for Hamas and Hezbollah, and will collaborate with the United States to remove its enriched uranium.

Trump reiterated that Iran has “agreed to everything,” emphasizing that “our people” would be involved in the retrieval of Iranian uranium. He further noted that the uranium would be transported to the U.S., stressing that no American ground troops would participate in its recovery. “No troops,” Trump affirmed. “…Our people, together with the Iranians, are going to work together to go get it. And then we’ll take it to the United States.”

Trump also mentioned a planned meeting between Iran and the U.S. this weekend, with the U.S. blockade on Iranian traffic in the Strait of Hormuz remaining in place until an agreement is struck. Earlier on Friday, Trump had posted on Truth Social that the U.S. would maintain its blockade on Iranian ports until an agreement is finalized.

Furthermore, Trump refuted reports suggesting the U.S. would release frozen Iranian assets as part of a deal, stating that the U.S. would not pay Iran “10 cents” for its enriched uranium. Reuters later reported on Friday that Trump confirmed no money would be exchanged as part of the ongoing negotiations to end the conflict in Iran.

Iran is estimated to possess over 900 pounds of uranium enriched to 60% purity. Iran’s nuclear program has been a contentious point in negotiations. Trump has cited preventing Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon as a primary reason for the conflict, while Iran maintains its uranium enrichment, which can produce fuel for power plants or nuclear warheads, is solely for peaceful civilian purposes.

Trump’s remarks to CBS followed earlier statements to Reuters on Friday, where he indicated the U.S. would collaborate with Iran to recover its enriched uranium and transport it back to the United States. “We’re going to get it together. We’re going to go in with Iran, at a nice leisurely pace, and go down and start excavating with big machinery… We’ll bring it back to the United States,” Trump stated in a phone interview. He also mentioned that “nuclear dust” would be retrieved “very soon,” referring to what he believes remains after U.S. and Israeli bombings of Iranian nuclear installations last June.

A Pakistani source involved in mediating between the U.S. and Iran reported progress in backdoor diplomacy, suggesting an upcoming meeting could lead to the signing of a memorandum of understanding, with a comprehensive deal potentially following within 60 days. “Both sides are agreeing in principle. And technical bits come later,” the anonymous source added. Additionally, Trump stated that the United States was collaborating with Tehran to remove mines from the Strait of Hormuz.
