Iran’s Unwavering Stance: US Blockade ‘Clumsy, Ignorant,’ Hormuz Traffic Firmly Under Iranian Control
Tehran, Iran – In a powerful display of national sovereignty and resolve, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, delivered a stern warning to the United States on Saturday. He unequivocally declared that the vital traffic within the Strait of Hormuz remains firmly under Iranian control and will face “definite restrictions” should the United States persist in its unlawful blockade of Iranian ports.
Ghalibaf highlighted Iran’s decisive action against a provocative attempt by the US military to clear what they falsely labeled as “Iranian mines” from the strategic strait. This audacious move by the US was rightfully deemed a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement.
Recounting a pivotal moment during negotiations in Pakistan, Speaker Ghalibaf revealed the firm message conveyed to the US delegation: “If their minesweeper moves even a little further from its position, we will definitely shoot it.” This resolute stance, he affirmed, compelled the US to issue “the order to turn back” to its naval assets, demonstrating the effectiveness of Iran’s deterrent capabilities.
