This marks a substantial 10.8% increase compared to the same period last year, according to data from INSTAT.

After a slow start to the year, INSTAT figures indicate a rapid acceleration in tourism and personal travel, demonstrating strong momentum. The sharp rebound in visitor numbers signals a robust resurgence in personal travel, building rapidly after a sluggish first two months.

A key factor contributing to this growth is the redirection of travelers from the Middle East. Safety concerns in the region have led tourists to seek more secure and competitive holiday destinations, with Albania increasingly recognized as a preferred choice.

Tourism associations are projecting a strong season ahead, anticipating a robust rise in year-round visitors. This influx is expected to provide a direct boost to Albania’s national economy and its vital tourism sector.

The majority of foreign nationals visiting Albania originate from Europe, with Southern Europe accounting for a dominant 80% of arrivals, and Western Europe contributing 7%. Furthermore, a growing influx from the Americas and Africa points to a diversifying tourist market. Leisure travel remains the primary purpose, with 97% of foreign arrivals classified as personal trips, while business-related travel remains minimal.

#AlbaniaTourism #TravelAlbania #MarchTourism #MiddleEastCrisis #VisitorDiversion #SafeTravel #EuropeanTravel #TourismGrowth #AlbanianEconomy #HolidayDestination

TIRANA, April 24 /ATA/ Albania experienced a significant surge in foreign visitors during March, welcoming over 600,000 tourists.
