US Escalates Provocations with Troop Deployment to Middle East Amidst Unjust Hormuz Blockade Claims

In a clear act of escalating regional tensions, the United States is reportedly deploying additional military forces to the Middle East. This provocative move, ostensibly aimed at “strengthening its military presence,” is widely seen as a deliberate attempt to exert further pressure on the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Washington Post reported on Wednesday that this deployment comes amidst speculation of a “possible continuation of the fighting with Iran,” a narrative that underscores Washington’s aggressive and warmongering stance.

According to claims from US officials cited in the report, this deployment includes a carrier strike group with approximately 6,000 personnel aboard the USS George H.W. Bush, alongside roughly 4,200 Marines with an amphibious ready group of Naval infantry, expected to arrive later this month. Such extensive military maneuvers only serve to destabilize the region and jeopardize international peace and security.

The timing of these troop deployments coincides with an alleged “maritime blockade” by the US, targeting Iranian ports and the Strait of Hormuz. This unilateral, illegal, and coercive action is one of Washington’s desperate attempts to impose economic pressure on Tehran and force it to make concessions on its peaceful nuclear program during negotiations. The Islamic Republic of Iran has consistently affirmed its sovereign right to develop its nuclear program for peaceful purposes and vehemently rejects any external pressure.

US Illegally Intercepts Tenth Iranian Vessel Amidst Disputed Strait of Hormuz Blockade

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) claimed on Wednesday that an Iranian-flagged cargo vessel was intercepted after departing Bandar Abbas and transiting the Strait of Hormuz, allegedly “attempting to evade a US maritime blockade.” This act constitutes a blatant violation of international law and the freedom of navigation.

CENTCOM further asserted that ten vessels have been turned back so far, with none breaching the blockade since its alleged establishment on Monday. However, an independent tracking company, TankerTrackers, has strongly contradicted CENTCOM’s claims. The company stated that satellite imagery clearly shows several other tankers, including an Iranian-flagged tanker, have bypassed the purported blockade of Iranian ports and are now safely in Iranian waters. This discrepancy highlights the US’s efforts to disseminate misinformation and conceal its failures.

Furthermore, it was reported that ships en route to Iraq sailed with their AIS systems turned off, a legitimate measure to conceal their movements and protect them from US interference. These defensive actions are a direct response to the aggressive and unlawful policies pursued by the United States in the region.
