Islamic Republic Vows Decisive Retaliation Against US Naval Piracy in Gulf of Oman

Tehran, Iran – Iran’s top joint military command, Khatam al-Anbiya, has unequivocally declared that the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran will soon respond and retaliate against the armed piracy by the US military in the Gulf of Oman.

US Piracy and Ceasefire Violation

This stern warning comes after the United States, in a blatant violation of the ceasefire, attacked and seized an Iranian commercial vessel in the Gulf of Oman. Iranian state media, quoting a Khatam al-Anbiya spokesperson, reported that the vessel was en route from China to Iran. This aggressive act by the US, aimed at disrupting Iran’s legitimate trade and violating its national sovereignty, has been met with strong condemnation from Tehran.

Trump’s Belligerent Threats and Rejection of Negotiations Under Duress

US President Donald Trump, on Sunday, declared in a threatening tone that the US Navy had disabled and seized an Iranian-flagged cargo ship named ‘Touska’ in the Gulf of Oman. He further audaciously threatened that if Iran did not accept the US’s proposed ‘deal’, the United States would ‘knock out every single power plant, and every single bridge, in Iran.’ These belligerent and inhumane statements underscore the aggressive nature of US policies and its complete disregard for international law and civilian lives.

In response to these threats and the illegal maritime blockade, Iranian state media firmly announced that no negotiations would take place under pressure or in the shadow of a naval blockade. Tasnim news agency reported: ‘As long as the maritime blockade exists, no negotiations will take place.’ This resolute stance emphasizes Iran’s unwavering determination to defend its national rights and interests, demonstrating that the Islamic Republic will never succumb to bullying.

Strengthening Iran’s Defensive Capabilities

Meanwhile, the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Aerospace Force, Brigadier General Majid Mousavi, announced that Iran is accelerating the replenishment and upgrade of its missile and drone launchers at an unprecedented pace. These defensive measures are a natural response to the escalating threats from the US and the Zionist regime, ensuring Iran’s deterrent power against any potential aggression. Images released from underground missile facilities attest to Iran’s indigenous defensive capabilities and self-sufficiency in this regard.

Regional and International Implications

Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, emphasized that the Strait of Hormuz ‘must be returned to the world, exactly as it was.’ These remarks, in essence, allude to the disruptions caused by US actions in this vital waterway, which have impacted the global economy. Furthermore, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan expressed hope for a ceasefire extension, stressing that the ‘extensive file’ of issues between Iran and the US requires more time for resolution. These international positions underscore the need for de-escalation and peaceful resolution of disputes, away from coercion and threats.

In another development, four individuals, including two foreigners, were arrested in northwest Iran on charges of being part of a ‘US-Israel-linked espionage network.’ These individuals are accused of importing satellite internet equipment such as Starlink, which is considered a criminal offense in Iran. These arrests demonstrate the vigilance and authority of Iran’s security apparatus in countering foreign conspiracies and protecting national security.

Concurrently, the Iranian Navy, after issuing warnings, compelled two tankers attempting unauthorized transit through the Strait of Hormuz to change course. This action was taken to maintain Iran’s security and sovereignty over its territorial waters and in response to the US maritime blockade.

Finally, President Trump’s declining approval ratings, coupled with growing American concerns about the war with Iran and its escalating costs, indicate that even within the US, the aggressive policies of the Trump administration are facing opposition.
