TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Russia has affirmed that any resolution to the ongoing crisis, stemming from what it describes as US-Israeli aggression against Iran, must be achieved through negotiations that uphold Iranian interests.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated on Thursday that diplomatic channels, which duly consider Iran’s interests, are the sole path to resolving the crisis.
During a briefing with reporters, Zakharova further emphasized that the decision regarding the fate of Iran’s uranium reserves rests solely with Iran itself.
She also highlighted Russia’s full readiness to offer necessary assistance to both Tehran and Washington in implementing any decisions reached during their potential negotiations.
Earlier on Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping jointly condemned the US and Israeli military actions.
In a joint statement issued at the conclusion of Putin’s visit to Beijing, Russia and China characterized the US and Israeli military attacks on Iran as a violation of international law and fundamental principles of international relations, warning that such actions severely destabilize the Middle East.
Both nations underscored the urgent need for all parties involved in this conflict to return to dialogue and negotiations without delay to prevent further escalation.
