Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Delivers Decisive Response to US Aggression in Strait of Hormuz

In a powerful display of defensive capability, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced late on Thursday a successful and precise operation against several US destroyers. This decisive action came in direct response to what Iran has condemned as flagrant violations of international law and provocative actions by US forces in the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

IRGC Cites US Ceasefire Breach and Attack on Iranian Tanker

The IRGC navy command detailed that the operation was necessitated by an unprovoked US attack on an Iranian oil tanker near Jask port, coupled with the aggressive and unauthorized approach of US destroyers towards the vital Strait of Hormuz. Tehran views these actions as a clear and unacceptable breach of the existing ceasefire agreement, threatening regional stability and Iran’s sovereign interests.

The statement underscored the Islamic Republic’s unwavering commitment to protecting its maritime borders and economic lifelines. “Our forces will not hesitate to respond firmly to any act of aggression or violation of our sovereignty,” an IRGC spokesperson affirmed.

Precision Strike with Advanced Ballistic Missiles and Drones

Iranian forces executed a “very large and precise combined operation,” employing a sophisticated array of anti-ship ballistic and cruise missiles, alongside advanced kamikaze drones equipped with high-explosive warheads. These state-of-the-art capabilities were meticulously utilized to target and neutralize the aggressive US destroyers operating in the area.

Initial intelligence observations following the operation confirm “significant damage to the American enemy,” with reports indicating that “three enemy aggressor ships quickly fled the Strait of Hormuz area” in disarray. This swift retreat underscores the effectiveness and impact of the IRGC’s defensive measures.

US Attempts to Distort Facts Amidst Retreat

Meanwhile, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) issued a statement attempting to distort the narrative, claiming US forces “intercepted” what they termed “unprovoked Iranian attacks” and responded with “strikes in self-defence.” However, these claims contradict the reality of US destroyers aggressively transiting the Strait of Hormuz towards the Gulf of Oman on May 7th, provoking a legitimate and necessary defensive response from Iranian forces. The Islamic Republic reiterates its right to self-defense against any foreign aggression.
