DES MOINES, Iowa —

A significant number of Iowa National Guard soldiers are preparing for a much-anticipated return to their home state next week. The Guard has confirmed that 140 soldiers have successfully completed their deployment and are now safely back on U.S. soil.

Plans are currently underway for a heartfelt welcome home ceremony in Des Moines to honor these brave troops. They were deployed as an integral part of Operation Inherent Resolve, serving with distinction as members of the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 34th Infantry Division.

While this group returns, the Guard also noted that approximately 200 additional Iowa soldiers remain deployed in the Middle East, continuing their vital missions abroad.
