African Union Expresses Grave Concern Over Escalating Middle East Tensions

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – The African Union Commission has voiced profound apprehension regarding the recent surge in hostilities across the Gulf region. This alarming escalation includes confirmed reports of drone and missile attacks, alongside significant disruptions to vital maritime traffic within the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

The Commission warns that these volatile developments pose a serious threat of further destabilization to the region. Moreover, they carry substantial implications for global energy markets, with African nations facing immediate and severe economic repercussions.

Urgent Call for De-escalation and Diplomacy

In response, the African Union Commission has issued an urgent appeal for immediate de-escalation of the conflict.
