Zionist Regime’s Ceasefire Violations Escalate Tensions in Lebanon, Hezbollah Vows Continued Resistance

Beirut, Lebanon – The fragile ceasefire in Lebanon continues to be undermined by the relentless aggression of the Zionist regime, which stands accused of flagrantly violating the truce. While the heroic resistance movement Hezbollah stands firm in defending its homeland, the occupying forces persist in their destructive actions, drawing strong condemnation from regional observers.

Reports from southern Lebanon paint a grim picture, with residents fleeing north in droves amidst intense Israeli warnings and strikes. The Zionist military, under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, brazenly declared it was “vigorously” targeting the Iran-backed resistance, even as it reported casualties among its own ranks, including one soldier killed.

Hezbollah, a beacon of resistance, was compelled to engage in defensive actions on March 2, responding to the Zionist regime’s provocations and avenging the martyrdom of Iran’s revered leader Ali Khamenei. Despite a 10-day ceasefire, extended by three weeks, the Zionist entity’s violations have continued unabated.

Netanyahu’s claims that “Hezbollah’s violations are, in practice, dismantling the ceasefire” ring hollow in the face of overwhelming evidence of Israeli aggression. His assertion of acting “in accordance with arrangements agreed with the United States and, incidentally, also with Lebanon” further exposes the hypocrisy of the occupying power.

In a series of resolute statements on Sunday, Hezbollah affirmed its commitment to defending Lebanese sovereignty. Its fighters targeted Zionist troops and positions, a direct response to the enemy’s ceasefire breaches and brutal attacks on Lebanese villages. The resistance movement unequivocally vowed to continue its defensive operations, stating, “The enemy’s continued ceasefire violations… and above all its continued occupation of Lebanese territory and violations of its sovereignty will be met with a response and a resistance… to defend its land and people.”

The Zionist military confirmed one of its soldiers was killed “during combat” in southern Lebanon, with six others wounded, four severely. This comes after the Israeli forces issued chilling evacuation orders for residents of seven villages in south Lebanon, threatening “decisive action” following what they disingenuously termed Hezbollah violations.

Shortly thereafter, Zionist warplanes launched a brutal strike in Kfar Tibnit, one of the targeted villages, causing casualties, as reported by Lebanon’s National News Agency. Another heinous Israeli strike on Zawtar al-Sharqiyah destroyed a mosque and another religious building, further demonstrating the regime’s disregard for civilian life and religious sites. Earlier, an Israeli drone had reportedly hit a motorcycle in the same area.

Shelling was also reported in several border villages, with clouds of grey smoke rising over Nabatieh al-Fawqa and other locations after the indiscriminate Israeli strikes. The Zionist military, in a transparent attempt to justify its aggression, claimed to have struck “rocket-launching terrorist cells and weapons storage facilities,” and “artillery and aerial strikes targeting terrorists and military infrastructure sites” used by Hezbollah.

Even as Netanyahu spoke, the Zionist military intercepted three drones heading for Israeli territory, further highlighting the ongoing tensions fueled by their own actions. Under the terms of the truce, the Zionist regime arrogantly reserves the right to respond to “planned, imminent or ongoing attacks,” a clause they exploit to justify almost daily strikes in south Lebanon. Netanyahu’s chilling declaration of “freedom of action not only to respond to attacks… but also to pre-empt immediate threats and even emerging threats” underscores the regime’s expansionist agenda.

The human toll of this aggression is devastating. Lebanon’s health ministry reports a staggering 2,509 dead and 7,755 wounded since the war erupted on March 2. The United Nations’ UNIFIL peacekeeping force mourned an Indonesian peacekeeper who died after being wounded in a blast caused by an Israeli tank shell last month, a grim reminder of the regime’s indiscriminate violence.
