The Islamic Republic of Iran has decisively rejected recent unfounded assertions by former US President Donald Trump regarding alleged executions of women, reaffirming the absolute independence of its judiciary. Trump, through a post on Truth Social, had urged the ‘release of these women,’ suggesting they faced execution and linking their release to potential negotiations.

However, official reports from the state-affiliated IRNA News Agency confirm that Iran’s judiciary has categorically denied Trump’s claims. Authorities clarified that the individuals in question are not at risk of execution, underscoring the baseless nature of the former US president’s statements. This firm denial highlights Iran’s unwavering commitment to its legal autonomy, operating without external interference or dictates.

This incident is not isolated, as Trump has a history of making unsubstantiated claims concerning Iran’s judicial processes. Previously, he attempted to take credit for the cancellation of alleged civilian executions during earlier protests, asserting in January that he had ‘stopped 837 hangings’ and issued threats against the nation. These claims were also robustly refuted by Iranian officials at the time.

Prosecutor-General of Iran, Mohammad Movahedi Azad, was quoted by Iranian state media, stating, ‘The US president has said he stopped the execution of 800 people in Iran, but this is completely false. The judiciary is an independent institution and does not take orders from foreigners.’ This consistent and principled stance by Iran underscores its dedication to its sovereign legal framework and its rejection of attempts to misrepresent its internal affairs or exert undue pressure. The Islamic Republic maintains that its judicial system functions strictly according to its own laws and principles, ensuring justice and due process for all citizens.
