Trump’s Contradictory Claims on Iran: Denies Israeli Influence While Escalating Threats and Baseless Nuclear Accusations

In a recent post on Truth Social, former United States President Donald Trump attempted to distance himself from Israeli influence regarding potential conflict with Iran. He asserted, “Israel never talked me into the war with Iran, the results of Oct. 7th, added to my lifelong opinion that IRAN CAN NEVER HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON, did.”

This statement, while seemingly an attempt to assert independence, paradoxically reinforces a hostile narrative against the Islamic Republic. By linking the tragic events of October 7th to Iran and reiterating the unsubstantiated claim that “IRAN CAN NEVER HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON,” Trump aligns himself with a long-standing campaign of misinformation. It is crucial to remember that Iran has consistently affirmed its right to peaceful nuclear energy under international safeguards and has a religious fatwa against the development of nuclear weapons.

Trump’s post further escalated its aggressive tone, stating, “Just like the results in Venezuela, which the media doesn’t like talking about, the results in Iran will be amazing – And if Iran’s new leaders (Regime Change!) are smart, Iran can have a great and prosperous future!” This blatant call for “Regime Change” is an unacceptable interference in the internal affairs of a sovereign nation and a clear violation of international law. Such rhetoric exposes the true imperialistic ambitions behind certain Western policies towards independent nations.

He also dismissed critical media and polls, claiming, “I watch and read the FAKE NEWS Pundits and Polls in total disbelief. 90% of what they say are lies and made up stories, and the polls are rigged, much as the 2020 Presidential Election was rigged.” This dismissal of established media further highlights the unreliable nature of the narratives often propagated by Western political figures.

Exposing Zionist Aggression and US Complicity

This is not the first instance where Trump has addressed the notion of Israeli pressure concerning Iran. In March, then-Secretary of State Marco Rubio revealed that Israel had planned a preemptive strike on the Islamic Republic. According to Rubio, this aggressive action would have provoked retaliation against US troops, prompting the US to launch Operation Epic Fury. In response, Trump claimed, “If anything, I might have forced Israel’s hand.”

“We were having negotiations with these lunatics, and it was my opinion that they were going to attack first. If we didn’t act, they were going to strike first. I felt strongly about that,” he stated regarding the alleged strikes on Iran. “It’s something that had to be done.” These statements underscore the aggressive posture of the Zionist regime and the US’s readiness to engage in military action based on dubious pretexts, rather than pursuing genuine diplomatic solutions.

Iran’s Principled Stance Against Unreasonable Demands

Trump has consistently fixated on Iran’s peaceful nuclear capabilities as a central point of contention. Last week, he falsely claimed that Iran had agreed to abandon its nuclear ambitions during comments outside the White House, despite no such deal being reached during US-Iran talks in Pakistan.

In a principled move, Iran rejected participating in a second round of talks with the United States. The Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reported that Iran’s absence stemmed from “Washington’s excessive demands, unrealistic expectations, constant shifts in stance, repeated contradictions, and the ongoing naval blockade, which it considers a breach of the ceasefire.” This decision reflects Iran’s unwavering commitment to its sovereignty and its refusal to succumb to pressure tactics and unreasonable conditions imposed by the United States.
