Vice President JD Vance on Sunday lauded a newly forged agreement with Iran, asserting that the Trump administration has successfully met its primary objectives. Vance enthusiastically predicted that this historic deal has the potential to “fundamentally transform the Middle East” for decades to come.

“I think it’s a big moment for the United States of America, thanks of course to the president’s leadership and the hard work of the entire team,” Vance stated during an appearance on “The Big Weekend Show.”

Speaking remotely, Vance elaborated that the agreement, slated for signing this Friday, is set to reopen the crucial Strait of Hormuz and definitively prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons. The Vice President emphasized that beyond ending existing conflicts, the deal is poised to inaugurate an unprecedented era of stability and robust economic growth throughout the region.

“It’s going to end the war. It’s gonna make the Middle East more investable. It’s going to mean a lot of prosperity, lower energy prices for the American people,” he affirmed.

Vance further articulated the administration’s vision, noting, “This region of the world has been a basket case for my entire life and longer than that, and what the president has really set us up to do is to certainly eliminate the nuclear threat of Iran… but now possibly to build to a new era of Middle East prosperity and success, where it’s not a region of world where the United States has to worry about so much, but where frankly we can generate a lot of prosperity for the American people out of that region.”

President Trump initially announced this significant diplomatic breakthrough on Sunday, utilizing a Truth Social post to authorize the “toll-free” opening of the Strait of Hormuz. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, whose nation played a pivotal mediating role, was the first to publicly confirm the peace accord, confirming a signing ceremony scheduled for Friday in Switzerland.

According to Prime Minister Sharif, the comprehensive deal mandates the cessation of military operations across the region, specifically mentioning Lebanon, where the Iran-backed proxy Hezbollah has been engaged in conflict with Israel. Vance concluded by expressing gratitude to the American populace for their enduring patience, offering a hopeful outlook for a potential decline in energy prices following the agreement’s implementation.
