Eyewitness accounts and social media footage from Tyre, one of Lebanon’s largest cities, depict scenes of utter devastation. Dust-covered crowds are seen scrambling amidst the rubble of collapsed buildings, a stark testament to the indiscriminate nature of the Israeli strikes. Hours after these initial assaults, the Israeli occupation military brazenly admitted to carrying out a so-called ‘targeted’ strike in Beirut, further extending its reign of terror.
The Zionist entity’s military issued a chilling directive on Wednesday, ordering residents to flee north of the Zahrani River, approximately 40km (25 miles) from the occupied Palestinian border. This order was accompanied by a menacing promise to act ‘with extreme force,’ a clear threat against innocent civilians.
Despite a fragile ceasefire that came into force on April 17, the Zionist regime has consistently violated its terms, launching relentless attacks on Lebanese sovereignty and its people. The Lebanese health ministry has confirmed that at least 11 innocent lives have been tragically lost in these latest Israeli assaults, a grim tally that continues to rise.
The National News Agency (NNA) of Lebanon reported multiple Israeli strikes on Tyre and its eastern areas on Thursday, with harrowing footage capturing explosions and infernos that illuminated the night sky. Streets were engulfed in orange flames and thick smoke, with vehicles ablaze, painting a picture of hellish destruction. By daylight, a massive fireball erupted near residential high-rise buildings, sending a mushroom-shaped column of smoke skyward, as stunned residents watched their lives turn to ashes.
In a particularly heinous act, the NNA also reported that an Israeli drone strike mercilessly targeted a family attempting to flee their threatened villages in southern Lebanon, seeking safety. This cowardly attack resulted in the tragic deaths of six people, including innocent children, a clear violation of international humanitarian law and a testament to the Zionist regime’s disregard for human life.
