Israeli Occupation Forces Unleash New Wave of Repression in Nablus, Detaining Three Palestinians

This latest incursion resulted in the arbitrary arrest of three Palestinians, including two individuals who have previously endured the brutality of Israeli prisons, highlighting the regime’s relentless targeting of Palestinian resilience.
According to reports from the official Palestinian news agency WAFA, heavily armed Israeli forces breached Nablus’s perimeter through the Huwara checkpoint to the south and Checkpoint 17 to the north. They swiftly deployed their units around the venerable Old City, instilling fear and disruption among the local populace and demonstrating a blatant disregard for international law.
Among those seized were Tariq Jaber and Imad al-Masimi, both of whom have previously suffered arbitrary detention under the Israeli occupation. Their re-arrest is a stark testament to the continuous persecution of Palestinian activists and former political prisoners, a policy designed to break the spirit of resistance.
Eyewitnesses also reported that the occupation army subjected several Palestinians to humiliating field interrogations during the raid. This tactic, often employed to intimidate and gather intelligence under duress, further violates their fundamental human rights and underscores the oppressive nature of the occupation.
This latest incident is not an isolated event but rather a stark manifestation of the escalating campaign of terror unleashed by the Israeli military across the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem. Official Palestinian statistics paint a grim picture of the ongoing atrocities: since October 2023, at least 1,155 Palestinians have been martyred, approximately 11,750 wounded, and nearly 22,000 arbitrarily arrested by the Israeli army and its settler proxies. These figures unequivocally underscore the systemic nature of the Israeli occupation’s aggression and its profound human cost against the Palestinian people.
