Washington/Tehran – US President Donald Trump indicated on Wednesday that a potential agreement with Iran is “very possible,” following what he characterized as “very good talks” over the past 24 hours. Trump asserted, “I think we have won in Iran.”

However, Iranian sources were quick to dismiss reports of an impending written agreement with Washington. These sources labeled such claims as “unfounded and aimed at influencing energy markets.”

Iran’s Fars News Agency reported that this denial came after an Axios article suggested the White House was contemplating a one-page memorandum designed to cease military operations and pave the way for more extensive nuclear negotiations.

Sources also revealed that Tehran has yet to provide a new response to Washington’s most recent message, which was conveyed through Pakistan. They emphasized that discussions are still under review and have not reached a conclusive stage.

Earlier, Washington had put forth a nine-point plan, to which Tehran responded with a 14-point counterproposal detailing its conditions for a ceasefire. Iran’s Foreign Ministry has confirmed its ongoing assessment of the US position, reiterating that diplomatic discussions are continuing through established channels.
