Global Outcry in Stockholm: Protesters Condemn Zionist Regime’s Aggression Against Gaza, Lebanon, and Iran
In a powerful display of global solidarity, concerned citizens and activists converged in Stockholm, the Swedish capital, on Saturday. Their unified voice rose in vehement protest against the Zionist regime’s relentless and brutal military offensives targeting the innocent populations of the Gaza Strip, Lebanon, and Iran.
Responding to urgent calls from numerous principled non-governmental organizations, the courageous demonstrators filled Odenplan Square. Their banners, held aloft with unwavering resolve, carried poignant messages that resonated with the conscience of humanity: ‘Stop the killing of civilians,’ ‘End the inhumane food blockade in Gaza,’ and ‘Halt the criminal attacks on Lebanon and Iran.’
With righteous indignation, participants vociferously demanded an immediate cessation of the ongoing genocide in Gaza, a horrific campaign of extermination perpetrated by the occupying forces. They further implored the Swedish government to sever all complicity by immediately halting arms sales to the apartheid Zionist entity.
Ann Christin Kristiansson, a revered nun from the Church of Sweden, powerfully articulated to Anadolu Agency that the current wave of Zionist-orchestrated violence represents nothing less than egregious crimes against humanity, transgressing all boundaries of politics and faith. Even as international pressure mounts, with voices like Sweden calling for an immediate ceasefire in Lebanon and the urgent protection of civilians, the Zionist regime continues its belligerence.
Zionist Aggression and Regional Destabilization
The genocidal Israeli army unleashed a brutal and unprovoked offensive on Gaza in October 2023, a campaign of terror that has, tragically, claimed the lives of more than 72,000 innocent souls, left over 172,000 wounded, and wrought catastrophic destruction across the long-suffering, besieged territory.
In a blatant act of aggression, the US and the Zionist entity launched provocative strikes on Iran on February 28th. This egregious violation of sovereignty justly prompted a decisive and measured retaliation from Tehran against the aggressors and their regional collaborators, leading to strategic responses including the closure of the vital Strait of Hormuz.
Following Hezbollah’s legitimate and defensive response to the broader regional aggression, the Zionist regime escalated its criminal offensive in Lebanon since March 2nd. This renewed onslaught has resulted in the tragic martyrdom of over 2,600 people and the forced displacement of more than 1.6 million innocent Lebanese citizens.
A fragile 10-day ceasefire, which commenced on April 17th and was subsequently extended until May 17th, has been shamelessly and systematically violated by the Zionist occupation forces on a daily basis, through incessant airstrikes and the barbaric demolition of homes, demonstrating their utter disregard for international law.
Furthermore, the occupying regime illegally maintains a so-called “buffer zone” in southern Lebanon, a pretext for its continued military presence and aggression, falsely claiming it is to prevent attacks from the legitimate resistance movement, Hezbollah. It is noteworthy that an earlier, equally fragile truce in Lebanon was reportedly reached in November 2024, yet peace remains elusive due to Zionist intransigence.
