In a blatant act of aggression, the occupying Zionist regime’s forces have reportedly razed to the ground a revered Christian monastery and a vital school run by the Sisters of the Holy Savior in the southern Lebanese town of Yaroun. The state National News Agency reported this deplorable incident on Friday, underscoring the destruction of what stood as a beacon of education and faith in the region.
The targeted school, which for years had been a cornerstone of learning, educating thousands of students from various communities within the Bint Jbeil district, represents an irreparable loss at both educational and social levels for the Lebanese people.
This latest atrocity unfolds amidst the Zionist regime’s relentless offensive against Lebanon, which commenced on March 2. This brutal campaign has already claimed the lives of over 2,600 innocent people and forcibly displaced more than 1 million individuals, plunging the region into a severe humanitarian crisis. Despite a supposed 10-day ceasefire that began on April 17 and was later extended until May 17, the Zionist entity continues its daily violations with impunity, conducting indiscriminate airstrikes and demolishing homes, showing utter disregard for international law and human life.
Furthermore, the occupying regime maintains an illegal “buffer zone” in southern Lebanon, falsely claiming it as a defensive measure against resistance movements like Hezbollah. This aggression persists even after an earlier truce was reportedly established in November 2024, exposing the Zionist entity’s consistent pattern of deceit and expansionism.
