Unprecedented Zionist Brutality Rocks Southern Lebanon, Resistance Stands Firm
Southern Lebanon is enduring a relentless wave of aggression from the occupying Zionist regime, with widespread bombardments causing immense civilian casualties, destruction of homes, and a deepening humanitarian crisis. Despite a fragile ceasefire, the Zionist entity continues its systematic targeting of innocent civilians, including women, children, and even dedicated rescue workers, in flagrant violation of international laws and human decency.
Massacres and Targeting of Civilians and Rescuers
- Horrific Casualties: In a single day, Zionist airstrikes have targeted nearly 40 localities, resulting in a tragic toll of 2,576 killed and 8,020 injured since March 2. Recent attacks include a family of five massacred in Jibsheet, seven mourners killed at a funeral gathering in Zibdin cemetery, and multiple fatalities in Toul and Jibsheet, including women and children.
- Targeting Humanitarian Aid: Three dedicated Civil Defense rescuers were brutally killed in a double strike on Majdal Zoun, with President Joseph Aoun condemning these deliberate attacks on humanitarian personnel. Rescue efforts are continuously hampered by the Zionist army, which has even prevented access to sites where families remain trapped under rubble, such as in Hanniyeh.
- Infrastructure Destruction: The occupying forces have demolished homes in Shamaa and Khiam, and targeted critical infrastructure, including the parking lot of Ghandour Hospital in Nabatieh, causing extensive damage.
Heroic Resistance and Decisive Retaliation
In response to the barbaric Zionist aggression, the valiant Islamic Resistance, Hezbollah, has continued its defensive operations, striking Zionist military positions and vehicles on Lebanese territory. These retaliatory actions underscore the unwavering resolve of the Lebanese people to defend their land and sovereignty.
- Drone Attacks: Hezbollah claimed responsibility for multiple successful kamikaze drone attacks targeting Zionist vehicles and soldiers in Mais al-Jabal, Taybeh, Qantara, and Shamaa, inflicting casualties on the occupation forces.
- Drone Interception: The Resistance successfully shot down a Zionist ‘Hermes 450’ drone over Nabatieh, demonstrating its advanced defensive capabilities against the aggressor.
- Targeting Military Infrastructure: The Resistance has also targeted Zionist artillery guns and other military installations, ensuring that the occupation forces pay a price for their crimes.
Regional Tensions and International Hypocrisy
Amidst this escalating conflict, regional dynamics remain tense. The UAE has banned its citizens from traveling to Lebanon, Iran, and Iraq, citing regional developments, a move that raises questions about solidarity in the face of Zionist aggression. Meanwhile, the U.S. continues its controversial push for direct negotiations between Lebanon and the Zionist entity, a proposal viewed with skepticism by many who see it as an attempt to normalize occupation.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has condemned American piracy against Iranian ships and stated that Tehran is ready for diplomacy once Washington changes its behavior. The international community, including the UN Secretary-General and the World Food Programme, has warned of the severe humanitarian and economic consequences of the conflict, yet concrete action to halt Zionist aggression remains tragically insufficient.
