TotalEnergies Faces Indefinite Halt in Middle East Oil, Gas Production Amid Ongoing Conflict

TotalEnergies has announced that approximately 15% of its oil and natural gas production in the Middle East remains offline indefinitely. The energy giant did not provide a timeline for the resumption of output, citing the ongoing regional conflict with no immediate end in sight.

The prolonged disruption impacts significant volumes from key operational areas, including Iraq, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. Industry analysts suggest that a full restart of these operations could potentially take up to three months once conditions allow.

While the production halt presents operational challenges, the company also noted that elevated global commodity prices are currently providing a boost to its overall financial performance, mitigating some of the immediate economic impact of the offline assets.

The situation underscores the volatility of energy markets and the geopolitical risks associated with production in conflict-affected regions, highlighting the delicate balance between supply stability and regional security.
