President Trump announced the cancellation of a planned trip by U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Islamabad for peace talks with Iran. Trump stated that he called off the trip due to “too much time wasted on traveling” and significant “infighting and confusion” within Iran’s leadership. “We have all the cards, they have none! If they want to talk, all they have to do is call!!!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

The decision comes as Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi departed Islamabad for Oman on Saturday after approximately 20 hours of meetings with senior Pakistani officials, who have been mediating between Iran and the U.S. Araghchi was expected to return to Islamabad later. He had previously indicated no plans for direct meetings with U.S. representatives.

In other developments, commercial flights have resumed from Tehran’s international airport for the first time since the conflict began. Meanwhile, Israel reported two projectiles fired from Lebanon, which it attributed to Hezbollah, further straining a fragile ceasefire. The U.S. Treasury also announced the freezing of $344 million in cryptocurrency with alleged ties to Iran and imposed sanctions on Iran-linked oil tankers and a Chinese refinery, intensifying economic pressure. The ongoing conflict has also led to significant economic impacts, including soaring oil prices and increased shipping costs through the Panama Canal.
